Public Health & Primary Care
Trinity College Dublin

Our research is reflective of health questions at both population and community levels, with particular emphasis on lifestyle and its effect on people’s health. Illicit drugs and problem alcohol use, childhood and adult obesity, cancer prevention, chronic disease and multi-morbidity, along with genetic epidemiology and gene-environment interaction, all form part of our research agenda. We are part of the Growing up in Ireland (GUI) study team.

We also play host to the Adelaide Health Policy Initiative (AHPI), which explores the delivery of healthcare in other systems internationally and advocates for improved health services in Ireland.

Institute of Population Health
Trinity College Dublin

In July 2016, Public Health & Primary Care moved to new premises on the top three floors of the Russell Centre at Tallaght Cross, a purpose-fitted building. There are excellent teaching and training facilities and social spaces for both undergraduate and postgraduate students on the 5th and 6th floors with research and administration offices on the 6th and 7th floors.

These three floors are collectively known as the Institute of Population Health (IPH).
