The Department of General Practice contribute to teaching in four of the five years of our direct entry course and three of the four years of our graduate entry programme.  We provide lectures and tutorials as part of the teaching in behavioural sciences and in the clinical science and practice modules in the early years.  In the later (clinical) years we also provide formal teaching as well as placing students for five weeks in their third (direct entry)/ second year (graduate entry) and four weeks in their final year in general practice in and around Munster.  We also examine in the final qualifying examination.

We also contribute to teaching of a BSc in Public Health and to a course for nurse prescribers.  We provide CPD modules on diabetes, cardiovascular disease and dementia for practice staff.  In collaboration with Public Health and Epidemiology, we support a number of PhD students.
